CAAD Futures 2027 Emerging Scholar Award

CAAD Futures 2027 is pleased to introduce the Emerging Scholar Award, recognizing an outstanding paper authored and presented by a graduate student or postdoctoral researcher.

Eligible papers will be evaluated based on their scholarly contribution, originality, methodological rigor, and potential impact on the field. This is a formal academic honour — not a general support scheme — intended to recognize excellence while encouraging on-site participation in Calgary.

Official Award

Recognition as a CAAD Futures 2027 Emerging Scholar Award recipient, including introduction on the conference website and at the awards ceremony.

Registration

Fee Waiver

Complimentary conference registration. Recipients will be notified before registration opens; if a fee has already been paid, it will be refunded in full.

Travel

Travel Support

Travel support toward attending the conference in Calgary. The grant amount will be confirmed when the conference budget is finalized.

Eligibility

To be considered, the applicant must meet all of the following:

Be a graduate student or hold a postdoctoral appointment at the time of paper submission.
Be the first author and the presenting author of an accepted full paper.

Selection

Eligible papers are evaluated on scholarly contribution, originality, methodological rigor, and potential impact. Honorable Mentions may also be given. Recipients will be announced together with paper acceptance notifications, and informed before registration opens so the registration waiver can be applied directly.
